ETU Statement on Gaza Conflict
The ETU Divisional Council has publicly condemned Israel’s current actions in Gaza.
Further, the ETU demands that the Australian Council of Trade Unions show leadership in pressuring the Australian Government into playing a leading role in bringing peace to Palestine and an ultimate settlement to hostilities and war crimes that are currently being committed.

Background to this statement: On 7 July 2014, following a severe escalation in hostilities involving intense Israeli aerial and navy bombardment and Palestinian rocket firing, the Israeli Government launched a full-scale military offensive against the Gaza Strip, titled Operation ‘Protective Edge’.
