December 2018, Kav LaOved
Last week we held in Rosa Luxemburg Foundation’s offices a conference centered around the publication of Kav LaOved’s new report – “The Occupation of Labor – Palestinian Employment in Israel”. The report, the result of more than two years of research and monitoring, describes the employment model of Palestinian construction sector workers in Israel, including the injustice, exploitation and discrimination derived from it.
The report presents the significant changes in the employment of Palestinian construction workers in Israel since 2016.
The changes relate to four fields:
- Number of Permits
- New model for permit allocation
- Changes in payment & tracking procedures
- Workers’ entitlements
