The Queensland state branch of the ASU has passed a strong motion of support for the Palestinian people.  A total 17 Australian unions and state labour councils have now pledged their solidarity with the Palestinians in their demand for peace with justice.

The Clerical & Administrative Branch of the Australian Services Union in central & southern Queensland passed a strong motion in July calling for an end to the Israeli occupation via “concerted and sustained pressure upon Israel including an economic, cultural, academic and sporting boycott.”  Their motion also called on the Australian Government to end its arms trade with Israel and for Australian unions to build links with Palestinian unions. AUSPalestine congratulates the Management Committee of the ASU C&A Central & Southern Queensland Branch, particularly the Branch Secretary, Julie Bignell, for adding their union’s voice to the call for peace, justice, equality, solidarity and action for the Palestinian people.
